The Three Worst Mistakes

Three Mistakes Of all the mistakes a person could make, there are really only three,
that have terrible consequences in this life and for all eternity.

First, not owning a Bible and reading about God's free gift of salvation,
through faith in His Son Jesus Christ who forgives our each and every transgression.

Second, not giving a portion of our money to God, and being generous to the poor,
whereby we lay up treasure in heaven, which we can enjoy forevermore.

Third, not having lots of children in obedience to God's first commandment,
whereby we forfeit their companionship and spend all eternity regretting it.

Reference Scripture Verses

First, Salvation:

John 12:47-48 - "As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day."

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 10:9-10 - "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Second, Giving to the Church and to the Poor:

Malachi 3:8-12 -
"Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, `How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse -- the whole nation of you -- because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.

Luke 12:33-34 - Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Third, Becoming Fathers and Mothers:

Genesis 1:26-28 - Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number;"

Exodus 20:14 - You shall not commit adultery.

Matthew 19:4-6 - "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

Malachi 2:15-16 - Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. "I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel,

Psalm 127:3-8 - children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward, like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;

Proverbs 17:6 - Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
