Your Heart - Christian Poem | Robert Wayne Atkins, P.E.

Jesus said, "Give to the poor and you will have treasure in Heaven."
"For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be."

If you follow Jesus’ advice then you should not be too surprised,
when one day you discover your heart is where He said it would be.

When it actually left you or how it got to Heaven you will not know.
All you will know is that your heart now resides with God in eternity.

And as your body continues to age and wither away you will not care,
because you will be longing for that place your heart can already see.

Matthew 6:19-21 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:33-34 - Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 9:21 - Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
