Moths, Mold, Mildew, Rot, and Decay

Introduction
Many things would last a lot longer if they were not gradually destroyed by harmful parasites.
For example, a beautiful piece of clothing can be slowly destroyed by moths. Once the moths start their destruction it will take the moths a reasonable amount of time but the moths can gradually ruin a once beautiful piece of clothing. When a person first notices the damage that has been done by the moths then it is usually (but not always) too late to save the garment. The garment will have to be thrown away because it would cost significantly more money to repair the damaged garment when compared to the cost of buying a new garment.
Mold and mildew can do the same thing to a book. Tiny holes begin to appear in the pages of the book and ugly spots begin to form on the cover and on the outside edges of the pages of the book. When a person first notices the damage then it is usually too late to salvage the book. The book will usually have to be discarded in order to prevent the mold and mildew from spreading to another book, and to avoid infecting someone who touches the book because the mold or mildew could make a person really sick (or worse).
Rot and decay can do the same thing to food. Most people have heard the old saying, "One rotten apple can destroy an entire barrel of apples." If the rot is very small then sometimes it may be possible to cut the bad spot out of the food and throw it away. Then the remaining food can be cooked to neutralize any harmful substances that may still be in the food after the bad piece has been cut away and discarded.
Cancer is also extremely harmful but if it can be detected early enough then it can sometimes be treated or removed from a person's body. However, after cancer has gotten a death grip on a person's body then the cancer will grow and it will gradually shutdown or destroy one or more of a person's organs and the person will eventually die a very painful death. After cancer has killed a person then the cancer continues to eat away at the person's dead body. And the cancer makes it easy for its brothers, rot and decay, to help the cancer completely destroy whatever remains of the person's body.
All the above harmful parasites have four things in common:
- They attack and thrive on healthy things.
- If they are discovered early enough then the parasites can be neutralized and the item can be saved.
- If they are not discovered soon enough then they will multiply and gradually consume whatever they have attacked until they have completely destroyed it.
- The only solution to prevent the spread of the parasites to other healthy things is to discard the item that has been infested and to hope that you have found and eliminated all the parasites.
Discussion
The effects of the above parasites are visible to the human eye.
However, some destructive parasites are not visible to the human eye until after they have a death grip on the thing they have infected. And then they cannot be removed without destroying the thing they have infested.
Unfortunately this is what has happened to the governments of the world, including their political systems, their criminal justice systems, their financial systems, their social systems, their educational systems, their religious systems, their mass news media systems, their health care systems, their food production systems, and their supply chain distribution systems. Most of these systems are now infected with an evil, or cancer, that cannot be controlled or contained. And the evil will continue to grow and spread until it kills the systems that have been infected.
Although there are still some healthy areas in different parts of every country all over the world, the evil that surrounds them has restricted the healthy areas from spreading their influence outside their respective areas. The evil does not care if a few healthy areas survive for a little longer because the evil knows that they will soon destroy the systems that the healthy areas depend on for their survival. And when that happens then the evil will be able to force its entry into the healthy areas and then the evil will be able to destroy the healthy areas also. This is similar to the way that cancer, rot, and decay can completely destroy a human body that was once alive and healthy.
People all over the world currently fall into one of the following very broadly defined groups:
- Some people are not aware of these problems and they believe that nothing of any importance is broken.
- Some people are aware of these problems and they believe the problems can be fixed. I hope they are right.
- Some people are aware of these problems and they know the problems can't be fixed because the evil already has a death grip on all the important systems worldwide. The only way to get rid of the evil will be a worldwide meltdown of the systems the evil has infected.
Unfortunately I am in the third group of the above people and the only solution I can see, other than a worldwide meltdown, would be a worldwide return to faith in God and faith in the Holy Bible. But I do not think this will happen during my lifetime. However I may be wrong. (I pray I am wrong.)
Conclusion
1 John 5:18-20 - New International Version
18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true -- even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
