Introduction
In the year 2023 some people are confused about the role of men and women in the eyes of God.
The purpose of this short article is to provide a few scripture verses from the Holy Bible that will shed some light on this issue.
All scripture verses are from the New International Version of the Holy Bible.
Discussion
Genesis 1:27-28
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number;"
In the first chapter of the first book in the Holy Bible we are told that God did two important things:
1. God created a man and a women in the image of God.
2. God blessed them and told them to have children (increase in number).
The second chapter of the first book in the Holy Bible says the following about marriage between one man and one woman (his wife):
Genesis 2:24
24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
The New Testament in the Holy Bible says the following about marriage:
Matthew 19:4-5
4 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,'
5 and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ?"
Ephesians 11:31
31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
The Holy Bible provides the following reason for marriage between one man and one woman in the eyes of God.
Malachi 2:15
15 Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring.
The above scripture verse clearly says that God created marriage between one man and one woman so that they would bring forth children and then teach their children the proper way to worship God and how to live a life that would be pleasing to God.
The Holy Bible says that parents should teach their children two things:
Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Luke 10:25-28
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
26 "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"
27 He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
28 "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
If a person wishes to live a life that is pleasing to the God of the Holy Bible then that person will love and honor God, and that person will do the things that God our Creator has asked us to do in order to live in harmony with God and with each other.
If a person wishes to live a life that is in rebellion against the God of the Holy Bible then that person can do any or all of the following;
Deuteronomy 22:5
5 A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.
Leviticus 18:22
22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.' "
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Jude 1:7
7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
Revelation 21:8
8 ... the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
Hebrews 4:13
13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 9:27
27 ... man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Hebrews 10:31
31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Matthew 12:36-37
36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.
Ezekiel 24:14
14 " 'I the LORD have spoken. The time has come for me to act. I will not hold back; I will not have pity, nor will I relent. You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
Conclusion
The Holy Bible provides the following insight into what pleases God and what is detestable to God:
- God is pleased with a marriage between one man and one woman.
- The purpose of marriage is so that people can multiply (the first commandment or Genesis 1:28). It is physically impossible for two men to create a baby. And it is physically impossible for two women to create a baby. A baby can only be created by the union of one man and one woman.
- Parents should raise their children to love and honor God, and they should teach their children how to obey God.
- God is offended if a man wears the clothes of a woman.
- God is offended if a woman wears the clothes of a man.
- There will be no homosexuals in heaven.
- All homosexuals will be cast into hell.
If a person wishes to please God then perhaps that person should carefully consider what the Holy Bible says.
However, if a person doesn't believe in God, or in heaven or hell, then that person may follow any path the person wishes.
On the other hand, simply denying the existence of God, heaven, and hell will not change the truth about God, heaven, or hell.
As I have mentioned in some of my other articles, as long as there is breath in our body it is never too late to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and to receive the mercy, forgiveness, and blessings of God.
John 3:16-18
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."
1 John 1:8-9
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 10:9-11
9 ... if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
