Personal Integrity is an Achievable Virtue

A virtue is a character trait that is admired by other people.
Virtues are possessed by people who have high moral standards, and virtues are admired by other members of society. Some examples of virtues would be patience, honesty, humility, courage, generosity, kindness, self-control, and personal integrity.
The opposite of a virtue is a vice. Examples of vices would be rudeness, cursing, hostility, lying, stealing, cheating, and being hot-tempered. Vices are easy to acquire and there are a lot of people in the 21st century who believe that vices are better than virtues. I hope that you are not one of these people.
Some virtues are not easy to acquire, such as humility. It is very easy to talk about humility but it is not easy to be a humble person. In my opinion, humility is one of the virtues that is in short supply in the 21st century,
Some virtues overlap with other virtues. For example, kindness and self-control usually exist in harmony with one another. A person who has good self-control has the ability to be considerate and kind. And a kind person is someone who has mastered the virtue of self-control.
Personal integrity is a virtue that can be achieved by almost anyone if that person really desires to be an honest person. An honest person is someone who has made the decision that they are not going to lie, cheat, or steal. And if an honest person does make a mistake then that person will own-up-to-it and not try to conceal or lie about their behavior regardless of what the consequences might be. However, an honest person doesn't make these types of mistakes very often so they do not have to worry about being criticized for their good behavior (except by evil people).
Each one of us should have a variety of short-term and long-term goals that we have set for ourselves. And we should be investing some of our time and effort in trying to achieve these goals.
If you have not already done so, then may I suggest that you add personal integrity to your list of short-term and long-term goals. The reason personal integrity should be both a short-term and a long-term goal is because personal integrity should be something that we work on every day and personal integrity should not be something that we replace with some other goal.

Grandpappy.
