Introduction
The theory of evolution is believed by many highly respected scientists, by many university professors, and by a significant number of other people all over the world.
The purpose of this very short article is to examine the basic premise that supports the theory of evolution.
Discussion
For evolution to be possible, there has to be some type of matter that can evolve. Without some type of matter that can evolve, evolution is simply not possible.
Over the years a variety of different explanations have been offered for how evolution began.
Currently one of the most popular of these explanations is the big bang theory. At some moment in time, many, many eons ago, there was a huge explosion that sent the stars and the planets and everything else spinning off into space in different directions. From that humble beginning life very slowly began to evolve over an unspecified number of years until we eventually arrive at life as we know it today.
The big bang theory, and all the other theories that attempt to provide a starting point for evolution, assume that some type of matter preexisted from eternity past. In other words, some type of matter was always present and it was that matter that resulted in the big bang that provided a starting point for the theory of evolution.
Based on the size of the known universe, this had to be a huge amount of preexistent matter because it formed all the stars, and all the planets that orbit those stars, and everything else in the known universe.
No theory has ever explained where this preexistent matter came from. All the different theories begin with the simple assumption that this matter was always, always just there. In other words, this matter had no beginning.
Conclusion
In the Holy Bible we are told that God has always existed and that He formed the heavens and the earth. In other words, God preexisted from eternity past.
The people who believe in the theory of evolution like to make fun of us because we believe in a preexistent God who created everything just by speaking it into existence.
But these same people who ridicule the story of creation as told in the Holy Bible, simply choose to believe in preexistent matter and they cannot offer any explanation of where it came from except "it was just always there."
It is much easier to believe in the God of the Holy Bible than it is to believe in a theory that claims that it is "scientific" but which has no scientific explanation for its original first cause.
